How Does PicoSure Work?
PicoSure uses specialized handpieces to safely deliver picosecond laser energy to the treatment area. Different handpieces can be used depending if you are targeting pigmentation conditions or general signs of aging skin. The laser will pass across the skin to address the treatment areas. Since the laser emits short bursts of energy, most patients only feel minimal discomfort. The treatment typically takes between 5 – 20 minutes. Once finished, you will be able to leave and return to your regular routine. You will begin to see results soon after the procedure and also have continued improvements with time.

Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania Reviews
I’ve been there for Laser skin treatment and for tattoo removal. I've had a couple sessions at a really great place before, so feel like I'm well equipped to share my experience. Really positive experience. Everyone was really nice and knowledgeable (mostly worked with Dr. Wang and Nelly). They also numb with injections rather than topical and it makes a huge difference!
Dr Wang and his Assistant are absolutely amazing! He is removing my tattoo and they both make the experience comfortable and painless . He answers all my questions every time ! I wouldn’t trust anyone else to laser me ! Highly recommend
love this practice. i and my daughter both go to Dr. Wang . he is so kind and caring. everyone is so nice and professional. highly recommended. my daughter has a birthmark ( venus of otta) i believe it was called under her right eyes. after 6 treatment and it is gone. she’s very please and happy. i had a red vein coming out my right nostril n i had it for 47 years and finally with a zap of laser , it’s gone. ❤️❤️❤️
Ok, so I hate admitting that I care about my aging skin. I want to be carefree about it and love all the changes happening, but I don’t. Damn you, patriarchy. And also I spent a ton of time working outside in the sun as a dogwalker in my twenties and thirties, thinking I was invincible and not wearing proper sun protection. I have regrets. That’s where Laser & Skin comes in. I was basically like I hate my face and neck area and I’m only in my early (okay pushing mid) 40s, what the heck? They did a consultation with me (shout out to Nelly for being such a rad nurse and for Dr. Jordan Wang for making me feel comfortable). He suggested I do the fraxel laser for face and neck and the pico for my abundant sun spots (and he didn’t yell at me for the sun damage, but did encourage hats and sunscreen for the future). I had both laser treatments and I am honestly both annoyed and elated to report a huge improvement in my skin. Sure, I wanted it to work, but also I’m like ok, so this is part of my yearly skin routine now I guess. They numb you up, which feels bonkers but doesn’t hurt. You just get your face slathered with a numbing cream. The laser itself isn’t the most comfortable feeling, but it’s not the worst either. You will have some downtown (they are not secretive about this and really help with lots of post treatment information. You’re gonna feel like you had a sunburn, then be a little sore, then itchy and flaky, and then, then- you are going to look f*c*ing radiant! I am dumbfounded that the giant sun spot on my nose is gone. My fine lines and wrinkles have diminished. I AM GLOWING. I’ll also add the the practice itself looks super pretty and modern and all of the staff are super nice. I am not a bougie main line type (no offense, you do you), and I still felt nothing but love from everyone there.
Patient oriented dermatologist-laser specialist - Dr. Wang listened to my concerned and thoroughly explained all the options including lasers to help treat my condition. He is a specialist in laser technologies and understands what can and cannot be achieved. Since he is a dermatologist, he helped me with my rash as well during the visit.

Am I A Good Candidate for PicoSure?
PicoSure is ideal for individuals seeking to address skin concerns such as acne scars, unwanted tattoos, pigmented lesions, and signs of aging like wrinkles. A good candidate is typically someone who desires to improve their skin's clarity, tone, and texture without the downtime associated with more invasive procedures. People with lighter skin tones often see the most dramatic results due to the laser's specific interaction with pigment. However, thanks to advancements in laser technology, those with darker skin tones can also experience significant improvements with proper consultation and settings adjustments by an experienced practitioner.
How long do the results of PicoSure treatments last?
PicoSure treatments, known for their effectiveness in skin rejuvenation, typically offer long-lasting results. The duration of these results can vary depending on the individual's skin type and the specific condition being treated. Generally, patients can expect the outcomes to remain stable for several months.
How often should I do a PicoSure treatment for skin rejuvenation?
PicoSure treatments for skin rejuvenation are typically recommended at intervals of 4 — 6 weeks, allowing your skin ample time to heal and respond to the therapy. The exact frequency can vary based on individual skin types and the specific concerns being addressed, such as wrinkles, age spots, or acne scars. It's essential to consult with a professional at Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania to personalize the treatment schedule to your unique needs.
Are PicoSure treatments painful?
PicoSure treatments at Laser & Skin Surgery Center of Pennsylvania are generally considered to be less painful than traditional laser therapies, with most patients describing the sensation as a slight rubber band snap against the skin. The discomfort level varies depending on individual pain tolerance and the treated area, but it's typically mild. To enhance patient comfort, we often apply a topical numbing cream before the procedure, further minimizing any potential discomfort.
