The purpose of this policy is to make our health insurance claim and billing processes as streamlined and efficient as possible. With growing complexities in the healthcare market, many insurance plans are now placing an increasing financial burden on patients, including in the form of copays, deductibles, and co-insurances. This includes high-deductible health plans that typically have more affordable premiums.
Due to the changing healthcare environment, we now require all patients to keep an active credit card on file. This information is securely stored by our online electronic medical record system.
After your medical visit, we will bill your insurance company first. Upon receipt of their determination of benefits, they will determine the amount of the claim that is your responsibility and any non-covered/denied services. We will then send you a bill for these amounts, including via physical mail, email, and/or text message. If this bill is not paid within 60 days, we will then charge this amount to your credit card on file.
This will in no way compromise your ability to dispute a charge with your insurance company or question their determination of benefits.
